This highly precise TCXO timebase, which has been especially developed for the SPECTRAN, offers significantly reduced phase noise (jitter). It will allow the use of the far narrower filters (down to 200Hz), which will in turn vastly enhance sensitivity. To fully exploit the maximum sensitivity of the HF-60100 V4, this option is indispensable! Furthermore, the TXCO timebase allows far more accurate frequency measurement and display and is therefore a MUST-HAVE for future applications like time-domain measurements or code-selective measurement of UMTS, all already in development.
The standard accuracy without option 002 is 50ppm.
This option provides an internal, super low-noise 15dB preamplifier, enabling maximum performance particularly when measuring extremely weak signals. It is switched via a TRUE RF switch. There really is no excuse for not ordering this one, considering its very attractive price. The maximum sensitivity of the V4 series without option 020 is lower by 15dB.

This option expands your SPECTRAN with a Peak Power Meter with full 10GHz of bandwidth. Furthermore it allows exact measurement of signals with high crest factor like those of WLAN technology, and even extremely short signals, like Radar bursts. What's more, measurement is performed in real-time and broadband, while at the same time being temperature-compensated. It is also an perfect solution for measurement of cable attenuation or receiver output. Depending on the actual frequency, the Power Meter provides a sensitivity of up to approx. -50dBm, while the maximum usable level is +10dBm. By adding our 20dB attenuator (see price list), the maximum measurable signal level can be enhanced to +30dBm.

The DC-Blocker must be used if you want to measure DC powered signals like DSL/ISDN lines. It prevents the RF-input of the SPECTRAN from being destroyed by the DC-voltages. Simply connect the DC-Blocker to the SMA-input of your SPECTRAN. More product details in our shop.

World's first RF / EMC Camera System SPECTRAN RF VIEW
Aaronia presents the world's first RF / EMC “camera system”, the "SPECTRAN RF VIEW”.
The system allows real-time visualization of RF Fields and EMC measurements in unlimited resolution.
The SPECTRAN RF VIEW consists of a complex measurement unit at each "pixel". Each unit consists of a Spectrum Analyzer of the SPECTRAN RSA series and connected isotropic broadband antenna (e.g. OmniLOG 70600) which are all connected via network to a central server..
The antennas are arranged in equal distance in an X / Y grid. The measurement data (amplitude and/or frequency) are visualized as a "chessboard-display". Each field of the chessboard represents a measurement unit.
An RF camera with 8x8 points (64 pixels resolution) requires 64 measurement units that way.
This resolution seems to be rather small but already allows amazingly detailed measurements of antenna spreading characteristics or the graphical classification of radiated emissions during an EMC test.
Typical EMC scanners are very limited from the area they can scan. It´s only possible to use them on quite small PCBs.
The SPECTRAN RF VIEW on the other hand works with unlimited size e.g. EMC chambers are no problem.
The other benefit is the speed: A EMC scanner is a scanner and not a camera, so it is quite slow (depending on system it can take hours) and does not offer a real time picture.
The SPECTRAN RF VIEW saves considerable measurement time and allows very detailed information on the spreading patterns of emissions. The system can be extended to any size in order to reach much higher resolutions and is already successfully in use for research purpose and product evaluation of a leading telecommunications provider.
The next evaluation step is the extension to a 3D camera system (additional Z-axis) to obtain more complex information.
Maximum benefit, minimum price
The system price is, despite the massive hardware insert, amazingly low. A 32 pixel system with 6GHz range is already available for less than € 100,000. Versions with up to 20GHz bandwidth will also be available against higher charge. A real-time version, based on the latest SPECTRAN® V5 real time spectrum analyzer generation, is scheduled for 2015.
