Hi Guys,
I just had a problem with my UBBVX preamplifier, according to support it was exposed to high power signal so it got broken, i was using it to measure the downlink spurious interference of a 3g and 2G carrier in band 850MHz that drops in the uplink channel of band 900MHz, according to the MAX power input, it just supports up to 15dBm, so it is probably the reason of the problem.
But my question is, that i need to measure this kind of signals, is there any variable attenuator that you can suggest me to use to protect the preamplifier or how what suggestions can you give me.
Thanks and B.R.
Maury
Simply add a fixed 10dB or 20dB attenuator or use our BPA preamplifier ( http://www.aaronia-shop.com/products/br ... -amplifier) series which can hold a much higher power level (21dBm) and offers a bypass mode.

Hi Moderator,
Thanks for your answer, but i wolud like to ask you if you know:
1. if there is a variable attenuator in the market maybe from AARONIA or other vendor?
2. According to your suggestion, my problem is that "BPA" preamplifier has just around half of the gain than UBBX, right?
Thanks and B.R.

Not from us but have a look at the typical market platforms.

Yes but i dont see a problem since you want to measure very high signals.
