2 NF-5035 showing different readings (30MHz expansion)

We have two NF5035 units but they have totally different background noise (using power hotkey). On one its higher than 25μt。see attachment.

The answer is quite simple. You are using a unit with 30MHz expansion (you can see it at the read dot at the backside) at 50-60Hz (Power hotkey) but this unit starts operation at 1kHz.
The 30MHz expansion (option 010) changes the sensitivity in the low frequency range (below 1kHz) a lot. You get a much higher noise level. Thats why we state the 30MHz expansion with a frequency range of 1kHz to 30MHz instead of 1Hz to 30MHz. Anyway you can still measure below 1kHz down to 1Hz, only the sensitivity is much lower (about 20dB) in that range so only quite strong signals can be measured correctly.
The 20MHz expansion (option 008) instead does not change any sensitivity in the low frequency range down to 1Hz.
