We've bought ourselves an HF-4040 v3 to be able to pinpoint GPRS signal levels during alarm installation. We also use other, simpler equipment which connects with SIM and only shows -dB.
When I compare results between the HF-4040 and our other tool I could get a very high signal with the other tool but the HF-4040 gives a very dodgy signal going on and off.
Same antenna is used and is usually the antenna mounted at the location. It gets somewhat better at some locations I've tried the equipment when I activate "PEAK" but is that really how it should be?
Are there any limitations to the HF-4040 v3 which makes it unreliable when searching at 900/1800 bands?

The HF-2025E can generally be used for your application, however we would recommend to use the HF-6060 V4 with Option 020 as this Analyzer offers a much higher sensitivity and speed compared to the HF-2025E which is especially important for GPRS.

But the HF-4040 v3 is not recommended at all? Is it not suited for these frequencies?
The HF-4040 is even better than the HF-2025E.
